A guitarist, singer, rapper, songwriter, anti-racism campaigner and LGBTQIA+ activist, Bia Ferreira has enjoyed a phenomenal career. She describes her music as MMP (música de mulher preta: ‘black woman’s music’) and blends Afrobeat, blues, R&B, soul ballads, reggae groove, samba and Bahian pagodão to deliver socially conscious rap with a sharp flow.
Bia doesn’t just sing; she educates. Her song ‘Cota Não é Esmola’ has been adopted as a key text by the University of Brasília, thereby validating the fight for racial equality.
