LES KICKEUSES

Les Kickeuses will sweep you away to the sound of Lolita Pariaud’s diatonic accordion and Juliette Ferreira’s wild flutes, backed by their voices and the stompbox. Their different musical worlds and a love of traditional European music have enabled the duo to develop a distinctive aesthetic and a unique language, full of finesse and energy.
ETHNO

Ethno is an international music exchange camp for young musicians that is organised in 40 countries. During 10 days, young people from all over the world come together to share their traditional music and culture. We are honoured to welcome to our stage the result of this first musical adventure in Wallonia. The performance will be the result of an intensive week of jam sessions and exchanges. Admire this young and wild group and enjoy their enthusiasm! This project is backed by Jeunesses Musicales and supported by Ethno World. What sets Ethno apart in particular is its democratic approach to teaching, with learning taking place solely among peers: the young people teach each other the music of their country and culture, assisted by two coaches.
BLUE BOSSA LIBERTÉ

At Blue Bossa Liberté, saudade dances to syncopations, jazz flirts with Afro-Brazilian rhythms and standards melt into a lava of original compositions. Between Cecilia Peçanha’s luminous voice and Nyllo Canela’s chiselled percussion, groove is king and freedom is queen. Their music is not a quest for exoticism: it starts where they live – Brussels – and carves out a lively bossa that is up to date, clever and joyful. You’ll recognise the benevolent shadow of Tom Jobim, the brilliance of Hermeto Pascoal and the poetic vertigo of Chico Buarque. But this quartet is charting its own course, free, light and resolutely looking towards the future.
Distribution
Cecilia Peçanha (vocals), Nyllo Canela (percussion, musical direction), Hendrik Vanattenhoven (double bass), Guillaume Gillain (guitar), Julien Cuvelier (saxophone)
Hamraaz

The encounter between Khordshid Dadbeh, tar and tanbur player (lute), and Lucie Lelaurain, flutist and duduk player, at the Codarts conservatory in the Netherlands gave birth to the Hamraaz duo in 2021. They share a love of the modal music with which they grew up with. Their music draws on the dynamic character of the duduk and the flute, and the rhythmic richness of the tanbur and the tar. The concert will feature musical compositions and traditional musical pieces from Iran and Armenia, reflecting two young active musicians in modern society.
Griff Trio

The mills of Statte are welcoming you in their flour workshop. The smell of grain and the industrial era is everywhere. What could be better than a bagpipe trio revisiting tradition in an avant-garde way for a musical morning? Under the slogan “Pipes but no kilts”, Griff Trio breathe new life into the most traditional of wind instruments, with their unique harmonies and irresistible rhythms. Their pipes and their bellows, along with their vocal chords, will take you on a journey beyond the traditional borders of bagpipe music.
