Born in Brussels, Maria Spyroglou has always had a close connection with her Greek roots. Following in the footsteps of the great Roza Eskenazi, she immersed herself in rebetiko, the rebellious underground music born in the slums of Athens at the crossroads of East and West.
It was around this shared passion that this trio emerged, with Renaud Dardenne (with whom she shared the stage in the group Vinylio), a jack-of-all-trades guitarist and a key figure in gypsy jazz in Belgium, and Massimiliano Engelli, a singer and multi-instrumentalist who fell madly in love with Greek music ten years ago. He is also a member of the Noma duo.
