LE FESTIVAL D'ART BECOMES LE FESTIVAL LES POLYSONS

Le Festival d’Art is celebrating its 40th birthday in 2024 with a new name and a revamped image! But why “Les Polysons”? Because this name represents perfectly the musical identity of the project, which has long championed a wide diversity of sounds, instruments and musical traditions within its programme.

The festival

The main project, the festival, takes place every year during the second half of August. The festival features six evenings of concerts dedicated to music and voices from around the world in venues filled with history and magic in the town of Huy.

ALL YEAR ROUND

Les Polysons are now developing cultural initiatives all year round. These include concerts in unusual locations or in collaboration with cultural partners. The new team also organises musical encounters between musicians and audiences from social organisations.

WE JOIN SCIVIAS IN ITS COMMITMENT TO GENDER-BALANCED PROGRAMMING

The line-up for the 2024 festival, just like in 2023, will be gender-balanced. This means we have set ourselves the target of achieving 50% representation of women or gender minorities among the artists we program.

Morning concert with Sumanth Manjunath and Lydie Thonnard – pictures

On April 10 we organised two small concerts of Lydie Thonnard & Sumanth Manjunath at the bio grocery store “Épicerie de la Halle” very early in the morning. The audience showed up for the first concert at 7.30 in the morning, and that gave a special hint & kick off to their day. Here are some pictures of this special moment.

CULTURAL INITIATIVES

Music everywhere and for everyone !

For a long time now, our non-profit organisation has been promoting traditional music from all around the world, beyond the concert halls. Having taken over many of Huy’s heritage venues, it seemed obvious to us to go beyond that target and meet Huy’s organisations, social associations and audiences.
