Born in a working-class district of Pointe-Noire in the Republic of Congo, Fredy Massamba stands out for his strong, powerful voice, his commitment to defending African languages and above all, his ability to touch each and everyone’s heart. In Huy, he’ll be presenting his new opus, Trancestral, inspired by the joy of returning to his ancestral roots. This album was recorded between Yaoundé in Cameroon, Brussels where he lives, Paris and Montreal. Each of these locations added their own touch to the album, which is a mixture of Congolese rumba, soul, hip-hop and traditional Central African rhythms.
Throughout his career, Fredy Massamba has collaborated with big names such as Zap Mama, Didier Awadi, Manu Dibango, Lokua Kanza, Aka Moon…
