Our history

Created in 1982 on the initiative of the Mayor of Huy, the Festival d’Art de Huy was originally a festival of theatrical creations. Ten years later, its artistic direction and management were entrusted to the Huy Cultural Centre, and the festival became multi-disciplinary: fine arts, comedy, songs and classical music were added to theatre. Over the years, the programme evolved and became essentially a musical one. In 1998, the Festival d’Art decided to dedicate itself to music and voices from around the world. It was a success. Since 2003, a carte blanche is given each year to an artist, allowing him or her to present a new musical creation. In 2022, a new team took over the reins of the festival, and in 2024, it was (re)named “Festival Les PolySons”. The organisation also began developing cultural mediation initiatives as well as year-round concerts.
