Candlelit musical evening at the Fort

This magical evening needs no introduction: it takes you on a journey to discover three 100% acoustic musical performances in the secret corners of the Fort de Huy. After admiring the unmissable view over the valley at sunset, let yourself be swept away by the atmosphere of these historic surroundings for three thirty-minute concerts, subtly lit by candlelight.

 Blending intimate Latin pop with danceable folktronica, the Belgian-Chilean Paloma del Rey weaves her world around the charango, that small ten-string guitar from the Andes. Her debut EP, Dame tu mano, released last March, flirts with electronic sounds. Here she offers a purely acoustic reinterpretation, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Kaluze on flutes and backing vocals.

An exceptional artist with a unique voice, Uma Ramakrishnan has been sharing her passion on stages around the world for over 30 years. Her career is marked by notable collaborations with Hindustani masters and jazz musicians, illustrating her open-mindedness. She masters with equal grace Carnatic singing (classical music of South India), the vina – an ancient stringed instrument – and konnakkol, an impressive vocal percussion technique. This concert immerses us in the heart of a pure and vibrant tradition. Accompanied by Ramakrishnan Rajaram on the mridangam (percussion), she will perform 18th-century musical works in which Nada – the sacred sound – is celebrated as a breath of liberation for the soul.

Finally, after 25 years of working together, Finnish-born singer Anu Junnonen and accordionist Tuur Florizoone are releasing their first album as a duo, White Paper. Blending jazz, pop, folk and chamber music, their twelve tracks celebrate the sheer joy of playing together. Here, the accordion becomes a voice, the words paint landscapes, and a Nordic light bathes this universe that is both playful and refined.
